This is essential to the care and maintenance of your leather furniture. Dust, dirt and oils over time, break down the protective coating of your leather. Regular cleaning will also maintain the leathers' moisture balance, thus keeping it supple and resistant to spills and staining.
What Type Of Leather Do You Have?
When cleaning leather, it is vitally important we establish what type you have, and this is where once again we recommend our free, no obligation on-site survey.
Wear And Tear
Not only will we be able to identify the leather type, but also take into account any problem areas, defects and damage to the hide and advise accordingly. Occasionally, we will ask you to sign an insurance disclaimer, if it is thought that cleaning might damage the article further.
We will work out the cost of the cleaning on a per seating area basis, dependant on soilage, and then present you with our written quotation and survey. Don't forget the price we quote you is the price you pay. There are NO hidden extras. Then provided you are happy with our quote, we can then arrange a time and date to come in and carry out the work
On The Day
We ask you to remove any breakables from the cleaning area, we will then place drop sheets on carpets and flooring to prevent damage or soil transference. All the furniture will then be thoroughly vacuumed to remove any loose dirt or dust, and then cleaned using the appropriate products and methods. When the leather is dry a protection cream is applied, allowed to dry, and then buffed to a sheen.
Cleaning leather is not rocket science, you can easily do the job yourself providing you use products that are specially designed for leather, and you know the type of leather you have. Under no circumstances should you use cleaning products that are not leather specific, you may get a great result, but you could end up damaging the finish irreparably. And finally, once you have finished cleaning, always apply a surface protector to help guard against future stains.
Wipe your furniture over with a damp cloth on a regular basis (every 1-2 weeks) this will remove surface dust and dirt, and add moisture to the leather.
